What is Bowen Therapy?
The Bowen technique is a gentle hands on therapy which taps into the bodies ability to self regulate. The practitioner through a series of Bowen moves will help re-establish balance in the body.
The therapist uses fingers and thumbs to make light pressure moves to specific points on the body mostly over muscles but also having an effect on tendons, fascia, ligaments, joints and nerves. There are frequent pauses during treatment which allow the body time to respond.
What to expect during a Bowen treatment.
Bowen moves can be performed over loose fitting clothing, though some moves are performed best on skin. Bowen treatments are very relaxing, the therapist will keep communication to a minimum during the treatment and will move in and out of the room during the session.

Arranging a dance event/weekender?
Ever considered complimenting the event with having a massage therapist?
Dancers are prone to minor injuries and pain associated with feet, ankles, legs, knees, shoulders and neck and this can interfere with their engagement/enjoyment.
Partner dancing such as modern jive, west coast swing, tango, relies on the dancer’s ability to engage with their core muscles to aid posture and balance.
The Therapy Toolbox understands the relationship between body posture, core engagement and dance and can provide 20-30 minute massage/Bowen sessions to address musculoskeletal issues aimed at reducing discomfort/easing tired muscles to help improve posture and allow attendees to maximise their dance experience.
